Niek is head of De Brauw’s London office. He specialises in corporate finance with a particular focus on banking, restructuring, capital markets and hybrid instruments. Niek has a broad transaction experience in finance, restructuring and capital markets, and regularly advises corporates, investment banks, financial institutions and private equity investors, and works with leading independent law firms on cross-border transactions. He is also a frequent speaker at international conferences.

Niek’s recent work includes advising:

• Fugro on its placements of EUR 190 million and EUR 100 million subordinated convertible bonds

• BCD on the refinancing of its USD 380 million and EUR 90 million senior facilities agreement

• Fugro on the temporary covenant reset of its EUR 775 million revolving credit facilities and USD 890 million US private placement notes

• Akzo Nobel on its EUR 3.1 billion multicurrency credit facilities to be entered into by the demerged Specially Chemicals division (in case of a public track)
