Eliot Adelson is a partner in Kirkland's litigation department. His practice focuses on representing corporate and individual clients in a broad range of disputes, including antitrust, shareholder, bankruptcy-related and contract disputes. In the antitrust area, Eliot has litigated various matters for foreign corporations and individuals, including alleged price fixing. His securities defense and internal investigation matters cover fiduciary duties, securities, fraud and other corporate issues. Eliot has appeared in federal and state courts and before arbitration panels across the country.

Antitrust Matters
• Representing a global pharmaceutical company in a price fixing and market allocation investigation
• Representing Murata Manufacturing in a putative class action alleging that certain electronics manufacturers conspired to fix the prices of inductors
• Representing Nexstar Media Group in a putative class action alleging that certain media companies conspired to fix the prices of local television advertising
• Representing Hitachi’s affiliates in connection with the TFT-LCD and CRT price fixing cases
• Representing Tenneco in connection with a DOJ and other enforcement agencies’ auto parts investigations
• Representing a number of individual executives in the DOJ Antitrust Division’s auto parts investigation
• Representing a number of individual executives in the DOJ Antitrust Division's capacitor investigation
• Represented Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) in connection with the DOJ’s second request concerning TICO’s acquisition of Casade Corporation
• Represented Bain Capital in connection with the DOJ’s second request concerning Big Tex’s acquisition of American Trailer Works
Commercial Litigation
• Represented Imperial Tobacco Canada Limited in its defense of a $525 million fraudulent conveyance and alter ego claim
• Represented B-Line Holdings in a dispute over the enforcement of a contractual "drag-along" forced sale provision
• Represented an international client in a defamation matter asserted against a U.S. professor
Shareholder Litigation
• Represented clients in multiple shareholder class action lawsuits challenging mergers and acquisitions
• Represented Morgan Stanley in several securities actions
Bankruptcy-Related Litigation
• Led the litigation team for First Place Financial Corporation, the Official Committee of Trust Preferred Holders, in its Chapter 11 bankruptcy case
• Represented Hawaiian Telecom, Hawaii's largest telecommunications provider, in its Chapter 11 bankruptcy case
• Represented SIRVA, one of the largest moving and relocation companies in the United States, in its Chapter 11 bankruptcy case
Government, Regulatory & Internal Investigations
• Representing Kobe Steel Ltd. in a data falsification inquiry
• Represented an auto manufacturer in a data falsification inquiry
• Led an internal investigation into allegations of fraudulent conveyance and mismanagement of Green Valley Ranch Resort
• Represented TIBC and certain affiliates in response to an investigation of the semiconductor packaging industry
• Representing an equipment manufacturer in response to an investigation into the sales practices of the industry
